This weekend's gonna fly by
I was up late last night, wrapping Christmas gifts and waiting to watch James Blunt on Conan O'Brien. He played "You're Beautiful" again, like he did on SNL, but this time it was just him on guitar and another guy on piano. It was cool to watch. I read somewhere that he did a concert on the BBC and I wish I could have seen that! Hopefully it'll pop up on line somewhere. There are also some CD singles with some demos on them on ebay that I might have to get hold of.
I got a fair amount of Christmas shopping done yesterday -- not all, but more than I thought. I found some good stuff for a few people. I'm glad I got most of it wrapped -- I often leave all the wrapping for the end and it can get overwhelming. Now, if I can just keep the cat from shredding the bows and such. We're not going to be splurging big-time on Christmas this year, so it should make the shopping and everything that goes along with it a little easier. I think I'll run out again today and see if I can get more done, if not all.
Later today/tonight we'll be going to my friend Denise's house for a Christmas party they are having. It'll be nice to see them and whomever else we run into.
In the mean time, I need to get some stuff done around the house and hopefully I can get to the gym today, too, so I can try to get on track. It's already Saturday, and before I know it it'll be Sunday night with me getting ready to go back to work.
I feel like there's something else I should be doing, something that will take my life in a different direction, but I can't put my finger on it. It just seems like there's something going on in the back of my mind, ideas that are not fully formed yet, that need to make their way to the surface. I don't know what it is. It's kind of the same way I started out this year, thinking I needed to start writing and doing some things to shake things up. Things definitely have changed a lot this year as a result, mostly for the better.
One thing I have noticed for sure; when things are going well, I am a boring-ass writer! So with that, I'll sign off.
