Nuts

That's what I think of people who CAMP OUT in front of stores for the privilege of spending hundreds of dollars on a video game console. The husband and I were at Best Buy on Saturday -- where I got my new CD case to replace the waterlogged one -- and there was a line of people sitting in those fold-up camping chairs, wearing heavy coats and one of them had even erected a very large tent-like covering. This was Saturday around noon -- and the signs on the store said they'd be releasing X-Box 360s at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday! I don't give a frog's fat ass how great the graphics and games might be -- I ain't camping out for something like that.

I don't even like camping.

Giving it some thought, I think the only thing I'd be willing to camp out for is large quantities of free cash. THAT I would camp out for. Or maybe a lifetime supply of all my favorite cosmetics. That stuff is expensive.

But camping out to put more cash in Bill Gates' pocket? Not so much. Don't these people understand that the prices come down eventually and that they are contributing to the message of scarcity being fed to them?

Besides, the PS3 is coming out next year. But I won't be waiting in line for that, either!

I don't get it either. People are starving in Africa, yet you're spending thousands on a video game. Priorities-what are they again?

See?! We're on the same wavelength with that.
