Shoe Shopping

What a pain in the butt! I was looking for a pair of closed-toe shoes that weren't pointed to within an inch of their life that I could also wear to work. That I didn't hate. Tall order. I found a pair of shoes that I think will work, but I had to pay $100 for them! I didn't like that part.

While I was there, I saw a woman and the way she was walking caught my attention. One of the heels on her shoes was broken clean off, so she was obviously looking for a replacement pair. On the foot with the broken heel, she was walking on the ball of her foot so as to look as though she was just walking in her heels. Hell, at that point I say take the damned shoes off as you walk around the shoe department, 'cuz you obviously aren't leaving in those!

We got paid today, and got Christmas bonuses. Mine was twice as much this year as last -- which wasn't a lot, exactly, but I've only been in this position 2 months and I was told it would be more next year. Yippee! There isn't anything about this job that isn't better than the last one. Oh, and we got our traditional pound of See's nuts & chews which the husband will likely devour in one sitting.

The husband had his second physical therapy appointment today, and has a third on Monday. He says he feels a little better while he is actually going through his paces at his appointment, but later the pain just comes back. They still think it's muscle pain and that it will subside. Here's hoping. We finally got the accident report, too, and the report indicates the other guy was on his cell phone, which I was stunned he would admit, and that he was exceeding the speed limit under the circumstances. The report also indicated that the husband and the driver in front of him did all they could reasonably do under the circumstances to avoid a collision (slowing down to accomodate the car with the blowout, the husband turning on his hazard lights, and staying in the lane they were in because there was full-speed traffic on both sides of them). Hopefully that will nudge his insurance company toward resolving this appropriately and not nickel-and-diming us over it. We have a lot to be reimbursed for!

Anyway, that's all the time I've got for a break. I've got work mounting, and a newsletter to crank out!
