This & That

The husband had his first physical therapy appointment this morning. It sounds like it went well, and that the possibility of his getting back to normal through physical therapy alone is rather promising. That was good news. The physical therapist told him that it could take 6-12 weeks before his back is back to normal, but that gives us a time frame. He goes again Thursday. Now, if the CHP would just go ahead and get that accident report done -- it's been over 3 weeks!

I stayed up way too late last night -- because I was on a CLEANING binge. Sad, I know. But I am so tired of a cluttered and dusty house! It looks okay on the surface, but all I see is the dust and clutter. I only got through the entry way, the living room and the kitchen in about 4-5 hours' time! I was dusting every last thing, moving everything, vacuuming under everything, reorganizing everything -- but I got a good start. I want the house to be the way I want it before Christmas, and I don't want to spend the last few days before Christmas doing that. So time to pay the piper. It's been good in one respect because I've gotten rid of a bunch of stuff. But I was hurting when I woke up this morning! And I hadn't even had any alcohol.

I think I heard the other night that Coldplay is going to be in town in January. The 30th? I can't remember. I'd ilke to see that. I'll have to find out how much the tickets are. I'll be seeing Aerosmith and Lenny Kravitz the week after, so that would make for an eventful week. I was thinking last night about how many bands out there I HAVEN'T seen, versus the ones I have. I've been to a lot of concerts, but not so many in the past few years. They've gotten so expensive that I'm more choosy now about which ones I'll go to. I'd like to see U2 come back, and I'd go see Prince any time he wants to come through town. I've never seen Mariah Carey. I've yet to see Coldplay. I'd like to see Incubus again. Last night Elton John was on TV doing a show and I've never seen him. I'd love to see Alicia Keys again, too! What else . . . oh! I'd LOVE to see Joss Stone. She should be around for a while, so no hurry but I need to get on some mailing lists to make sure I don't miss these people when they come through. I just thought of another -- Sheryl Crow. I've got all of her CDs and have always loved her stuff, but I've never seen her. And, of course, I must not leave out my new favorite, James Blunt. I do love him. Where the hell have I been? Or, where the hell have all these people been?! I have so many concerts I want to see, so many movies to catch up on, so many places I'd like to go. How will I ever do it all? Maybe I should go buy a lotto ticket or something -- probably the only way it's all ever going to happen!

This morning as I was getting ready to leave for work the garbage truck was rolling through and I heard some loud obnoxious noise so I went to see what it was. Just then, the garbage truck pulls up and its claw grabs our trash can, squeezes it like an aluminum can -- puncturing a giant hole in it as it did so -- then plops it back down on the ground. The truck started to take off but the can went with it because it was hooked on the claw. I went outside and the guy in the truck just got out, unhooked the can and started to get back in the truck. I said "um, excuse me -- what do I need to do to get that trash can replaced?!" He seemed puzzled at my question. I pointed out the giant hole (seriously, like 6-8 inches across) from which he had just unhooked the can and he says we have a new company taking our trash after the first of the year. I asked if that meant we would be getting new trash cans and should I just let it be. He couldn't have cared less. Anyway, I know I can get another can from the city, but I wanted him to know I saw him destroy my trash can and then just try to walk away! People don't care about anything anymore -- but I don't need a can with a big hole in it, as trash is rather unpleasant even when the can is in proper working order!

Ciao for now.

The city gives you trash cans? That's crazy! We have to buy our own around here.

I need new ones with locking lids, but I haven't gone to Home Depot.

So many concerts, so little time. Sounds like you have a lot on your to-do list. :)
