Inching ever closer to Friday . . .

I had a good day today . . . pretty much no one was around, so I was again in my own little world, working on my newsletter. It came out so cool! I think I'm getting the basics of MS Publisher down. I'm all proud of myself & shit. :0)

Got the grocery shopping done today, and made dinner, then wasted the rest of the evening on the computer. It's an addiction. Between MySpace and Blogger, I don't stand a chance! And I still got that homework to do from Grrrace. Maybe I should go find that now. Hold, please . . .

Okay, here goes:

Total volume of music files on my computer:
Negligible. The whole internet music downloading thing has kinda bypassed me. I'm a sucker for CD's, but I like having the whole thing, covers & all. I do have some cool Office Space wav files, though!

The last CD I bought was:
I'm a mainstream type, so Mariah Carey's "The Emancipation of Mimi" and Joss Stone's "Soul Sessions." And I still wanna get Stone's most recent one. I like bitches who can sing!

Song playing right now:
The only sound in the house right now is the husband & one of his friends playing Madden on the PS2 -- so whatever music it is that's on that game, with the fake crowds and announcers droning on, that's what's playing!

Five songs I listen to a lot, or that mean a lot to me:
1. Lenny Kravitz ~ American Woman. I do love him.
2. Prince ~ When Doves Cry. I still love him.
3. Incubus ~ Pardon Me. Love the Incubus!
4. Sheryl Crow ~ pretty much anything by her -- love her! Really liked 2 albums -- Tuesday Night Music Club, and The Globe Sessions.
5. Brian McKnight ~ Could (saved the best for last -- this was the husband's & my first dance song @ the wedding). If you don't like Brian McKnight, you have no soul.

And that's it. Just like the movie selections, all stuff everyone's probably heard of. I don't dig too deep for entertainment. Sometimes I happen upon some eclectic stuff, but not often enough to come up with any examples!

I haven't even changed out of my work clothes yet. It's gonna feel so good to change!

Oh, the other thing that happened today is one of my attorneys gave notice. She lasted a whole 6 months and decided to go back to the Bay Area. Oh, well, she never really talked to me anyway so it won't really affect me -- except that now there's that uncertainty of who they're going to foist upon me next. Whomever it is will be the 4th associate I've had since I took that desk over last June. Less than a year! The first one went on maternity leave and never came back -- decided to move away and work for her father's firm, so that was good for her. The second one I had for all of a month before the 3rd one came on board and the firm did some shifting around. So it's not like they all just came & went, but it's still a lot of change for me.

If I had my way, they'd just find more admin & marketing stuff for me to do and leave me with the one shareholder I work with now. That would work for me! Not likely, but it could happen. Crossing my fingers . . .

Still trying to nail down that vacation stuff, too. Found some pretty good deals in Cancun, but I need those punks at AAA to call me back so I can use our credit with them! I think that will be my mission tomorrow -- getting someone on the phone to deal with me. I need to get out of town and onto a beach, pronto wikki wikki!
