Busy day

Got up early so we could hit the mall first thing this morning and finish our Christmas shopping. We only had a few odds & ends to get, but of course it adds up -- way up! We got to the mall around 8:30, parked right near the entrance to Nordstrom and started making our way through the mall. Less than 2 hours later, we were outta there, and stopped at McDonald's for some sausage & egg McMuffins (marginal) with hashbrowns (terrible). Oh, well, at least it took away the hunger pangs for a bit. Then we hit Pier 1 and picked up a few other things we needed and we were done. Ran a couple other errands and sought out this meat store nearby to see what they had that we might want to cook for Christmas dinner. This place was old-skool with their forever ago supermarket freezers and stuff, but that didn't stop the steady stream of people filing through to pick their orders up. Looked like prime rib was the order of the day, so that's what we got, too. Fresh. Mmm. So we got our $60 hunk of meet and were on our way -- but not before checking out what else they had:

carne asada
goose
rattlesnake (!)
lobster tails (bigguns)
venison

And, of course, all the other usual cuts of meat you expect in the form of chicken, ham, turkey, etc. I hope this prime rib is gonna be all it can be! I'll have to go shopping for sides tomorrow or Saturday. As long as I have the meat out of the way, the rest should be a snap. I'm not doing a re-hash of Thanksgiving dinner, so hopefully I won't be competing with the rest of the world for the stuff I wanna get!

The husband picked up the King Kong game for his PS2 today. He played it all afternoon. Meanwhile, I wrapped the remaining gifts and though I may go look for one more thing I want for the husband, I am DONE with Christmas shopping and wrapping! Hallelujah.

Tonight I uploaded a bunch of pics from my PC to a Walgreens site and sent them to the store down the street to be printed in either 4x6 or 5x7. They're supposed to e-mail me when they're ready. I LOVE that!

Now I need to get to cleaning this house and doing some laundry -- get ready for the people who are gonna be rolling through here over the next few days. Makes me think I should have taken Tuesday off, too! Oh, well. I don't absolutely have to see anyone until 1:30 that day -- though I'd best get to work on my newsletter if it's ever gonna see the light of day! I need to start cultivating more ideas for that thing so I can write them in advance and plop 'em in.

ANYWAY -- that was the long-winded way of saying I got a lot done today, but still have much more to do. Now, I just wanna go shopping for myself!
