Friday was a great day
I published my second issue of my newsletter at work to rave reviews! The e-mails I got from my HR Director, the Marketing Director, and the Managing Partner of the firm (who also copied the Executive Committee) made for a nice hat trick. I was a little stressed in the days leading up to Friday because I felt like I wasn't going to get it done or that it wasn't going to be that good -- but I just dug in and made something of it. It came out great! My HR Director asked if I ever thought about becoming a writer. I thought that was nice. I do want to go to this writer's conference at the beginning of next month at my alma mater. It's a 3-day thing that looks to be quite interesting. I dunno. I'd probably be a better editor than writer, but maybe if I put more time into it I could generate enough ideas to pursue the writing thing.
Anyway, I got e-mails from all over the office telling me how much they loved the newsletter and that they really like having it because our firm is so big now that it makes them feel like they know what's going on. I had a lot of good pictures and stories to tell. I love that this is part of my job now -- and now I've got the Marketing Director wondering how she can use me. Bingo! My job is so much more interesting these days. I wish I could post the newsletter, but it's not for public consumption and thus that would get me fired -- not exactly what I'm going for.
I can't wait to get started on the next one! I gotta sketch out some ideas.
