I know this has been a pretty boring place lately -- but that's the way it's gotta be for me to be getting so much done around the house! Plus, the husband is obsessed with on line poker right now, so I've basically lost the computer -- except when I can check e-mails between tournaments and 5-minute breaks! The husband is gonna get socked soon if he doesn't cut it out.
Anyway, over the weekend I cleaned out the spare room and added a few things to make it more liveable. It actually looks like a room. The first night I went in there and read my book fora while. It was great! The cat came in and hung out w/me and just enjoyed the space. I also got rid of a lot of stuff this weekend -- crap that was just taking up space in the spare room, the kitchen, the bathroom, etc. Things I held on to because I thought it was wasteful to get rid of them. I'm getting over it. Goodwill is a great way to get rid of perfectly good stuff that I couldn't care less about! I made a trip there on Sunday and unloaded everything.
Since then, I've been attacking little piles of things around the house. It's working out well -- now, if I could just get the same level of organization at work! I figure the final few weeks of spring is as good a time as any to clear the clutter from my life. I don't miss it at all!
So all this progress, of course, comes at the expense of things like rest and recreation. I'm like a shark right now -- constantly moving throughout the house, attacking things as they catch my attention. When I got home last night, I sifted through the mail, said hello to the husband, the person he invited over for dinner, and the cat, then went straight to the kitchen to cook dinner. I made a bomb-ass spicy chicken pasta dish and BBQ bread (no modesty required here), started some laundry, watched my soap, got rid of some boxes from weekend shopping, found a place for some dishes that have been boxed up for forever, started another goodwill pile, put away the stepladder and other stuff I used to hang some stuff on the wall over the weekend, put away several loads of laundry, went through a few piles of bills & papers, and took out the recycling. Oh, and I cleaned up the dinner stuff, except the dishes because it is SUPPOSED to be the husband's job and he SAID he was going to take care of it, but he played poker 'til 11 p.m. last night. So the dishes are still sitting there. And there they shall continue to sit. Hopefully he'll take care of them this afternoon when he gets home before we go see the movie I told him I want to see today (The Breakup) instead of him playing poker all night. Wish me luck!

You constantly stay busy. I'm amazed.
What soap do you watch, and for how long have you been watching?
Dude, just take all his money away. He'll lose interest in poker in no time.
Peachy: I tend not to think about it; I think it's how I keep going! As for the soap, it's Days of our Lives -- I've been watching since the summer of 1982, when I was the ripe old age of 10, and my grandparents were out for a visit. Apparently Grammy was a fan.
CL: Most of the poker play is free or low-dollar buy-ins . . . but I'm telling you, he's obsessed!
