MF'r!
I took over the husband's online poker game about an hour ago. I started w/$1,500 and at one point was down to $400. I got up to about $3,500 and there was one hand where I had a pair of 4's and I folded 'em 'cuz someone got stupid and raised heavy. Then a 4 flopped out and the two punks still in it bet the pot up to $12k and all either of 'em had was a pair. I'd have had 3 of a kind and taken it all! That sucked. That was my hand. I never got another hand good enough to do anything and ate it at 12th place.
Dang.
Dang.

So... like, this is all fake money right?
I am so clueless about the whole poker thing (and really... don't want to be enlightened too much). Just to make sure it's all fake money. LOL.
Merritt: Oh, yeah -- I don't have the stomach for gambling like that! But, if you finish high enough, you do get a shot at some prize money. For this one, I think it was a couple of dollars to play the game and the prize was pretty small. On the free one, you're playing against 10,000 other people -- and I played a tournament recently (took another one over from the husband) where I finished in 42nd place (top 27 get into the next round). The free one eventually gives you a shot at $1,000. But it takes a ton of time to get to that point, if you ever do. So it's mostly just for fun. I'm learning a lot about how to play poker, though!
Start of the slippery slope ;)
Next thing you know you'll be a expert poker player:)
Ian: mmm hmm
Pixie: I certainly know more about it now than I did a few weeks ago!
