Okay, so I went
I even worked out for an hour. And, after I am done with my 8:15 a.m. on a Saturday tax appointment (hurry up and file that sucker!), I am going again. For an hour. It's all the time I've got -- I need to get home and get ready to meet my dad for lunch downtown. I can tell already this day is going to fly by -- the stepdaughter is supposed to be back from spending the night at a friend's house around 2, and I need to take her to the library so she can do some research for a report on Cleopatra.
Other than that, my day's wide open.
Actually, there's a tennis court right there, too. Maybe we'll take the rackets and lob the ball back and forth for a bit. I'm fixin' to go on a workout bender. Wish me luck!

I don't understand this tax thing. Don't you guys pay tax on earnings automatically through your employment, on a weekly/ monthly basis? W
hat's the deal with all this "keeping receipts" stuff and getting your taxes done every year?
Ian: Be glad you don't understand the tax thing! Yes, we do have taxes and other dollars automatically withheld from our earnings, but one never really knows whether the amount that's being withheld is going to be enough to satisfy Uncle Sam -- and the reason for saving receipts for some things is because we are entitled to certain deductions (like the interest we pay on our home mortgages) that reduce our tax liability -- those receipts, and resulting deductions, are usually the only reason a lot of people don't end up writing fat checks to the IRS every year! The fact that you don't understand this tells me that maybe I want to look into moving to Australia!
Ok that makes more sense - I seriously thought you guys meant having to keep all receipts, like everytime you went to the store and bought a donut...
