It's my anniversary
And I'm at work. The husband elected to stay home. And sleep 'til noon. And I'm at work! That sucks! I had to come in to take care of a few things. I think I'm gonna try to leave around 3:00. Maybe we'll go have dinner somewhere. We had a nice dinner with my dad & stepmother last night, but other than that this anniversary pales in comparison to spending a couple of days at a bed & breakfast in Napa. Next year I will not let this weekend come and go without having something planned!
Anyway, as I prepare to do what I have to do to get the hell out of here for the day, I couldn't resist posting the following story:
"WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The IKEA store in West Sacramento isn't scheduled to open until March 1, but that's not stopping some diehard shoppers from camping out in anticipation of the big day.
A small tent city has popped up in front of the store, and it's all about money.
The first three people through the doors of the new store will win $3,000, $2,000 and $1,000 gift cards respectively.
The first person in line said he flew to the area from Boston on Super Bowl Sunday.
The three people in line said they eat what people bring them or whatever they have stocked in their tents. The use portable restrooms that are set up outside the building and are able to go inside the store to shower."
Why do people have no lives?

Happy Anniversary! I can't believe that people are camping out already. That is pure craziness.
Wait... they're camping out for the giveaway? I'm assuming that (a) there's only three of them (b) they're all related so they don't fight over who gets first prize, and (c) they can run really really fast.
Because if I was there, I'd try to beat them inside, just for pure meanness.
Pixie: Thanks! And, I know -- no lives!
FunkyB: That's what my husband said . . . show up right when the place opens and run past everyone. Score!
The first time I walked into IKEA it blew my mind!
Great store.
LBB: Well, then, perhaps I'm just uninitiated. Maybe I should reserve my judgment -- but I doubt I'll change my mind about it being insane to camp out in front of a store for weeks/months before it opens!
Ikea is nice, but it's not all that.
Happy Anniversary!!! Definitely time to start planning for next year's vacation. Napa was nice. I remember the pictures. :)
Happy Belated Anniversary! Hope y'all had a good one! :)
Peachy: I'm not willing to camp for much of anything, much less the "reward" of being among the first in a new store! And yes, I shall plan something in advance next time.
Mamakbear: Thanks!
Every couple needs some special time together. At least once a year you should have something more important than work to do.
Love em while ya got em....
