Rock Star INXS
I loved INXS back in the day. Loved 'em. I loved that Kick album. I was bummed when I heard Michael Hutchence killed himself. Or whatever -- I know some people think it was just a sex fetish gone horribly wrong.
Aaaaaaanyway, I've been watching this Rock Star INXS show and I'm hooked! Yep, I Tivo it. I think it's better than shows like American Idol because it's more like an audition. The winner will record an album with the band and go on tour -- actually be the new lead singer of INXS. There have been some crappy singers/performers -- and some outstanding ones. Some, even though they look & sound great, are obviously not going to fit in with the band -- but it's cool to see what they do with older songs, especially when they come up with their own arrangements. Mig is totally the man for this job. Of all of the contestants, I think Mig, Marty and Jordis are the top contenders. Ty is great but he strikes me as a theater actor who does NOT take criticism well. Mig has the rock star look and way about him, great voice -- and hell, he's Australian like the band so that probably gives him an edge. Marty has some of that je ne sais quois, too. And Jordis, the 23-year old chick -- the only chick that I think could really hold her own with the band -- kicks ass. Her voice is huge. Deanna and Suzie are pretty good, but I don't think they have that edge. Brandon is too Lynyrd Skynyrd and J.D., though I liked him in the earlier episodes, is an ass. Shady character. I don't like that. So yeah, that's my $.02 -- Mig is #1, and Marty and Jordis are tied for #2. I think Jordis actually has the better voice and star quality, but there's something about Marty -- he might be the sleeper.

i haven't watched the show... don't hurt me, but i wasn't a huge fan of the band. there were a few songs i liked...
