Yay!
We're all excited about our new garage door. It was installed today. I missed a whole day of work because of it. A 3-day odyssey! I haven't worked a full day of work since last Thursday. Thursday! I was sick Friday (and Saturday and Sunday, but they don't care about that because they're not work days). I still didn't feel good Monday but was gonna go, then the garage door crapped out, so I did what I could do about it that day and got to work at 12:30. Couldn't stay late because I had a hair appointment. Tuesday, I had to wait for the dude to come out and take measurements and give me the estimate, got to work at 11:00. Since they told me it would take 4 hours (4 HOURS!) to install the garage door and they were going to show up around 9:00, I thought -- I ain't makin' it in to work. And I didn't. I could have, but I didn't see the point of making the drive and going to work for 2+ hours. By the time the garage door dude left, I felt like I needed another shower because it was 175 degrees out! It just wasn't worth it. I'm sure my boss would rather I showed up, but he was gone most of the day and I figure I can go in early tomorrow and Friday and stay a little longer to make up some time. I didn't have that much going on anyway, and they had an overflow covering for me so I just let it go. I didn't get as much done around here as I thought I would, but oh well. I got enough done.
Check out the before and after photos!
Before (boo):
After (yay!):
It makes me want to replace other things. And, we need to re-paint that trim. Old house + no extra money = long wait time between home improvement projects. We need some extra money up in here, people!
Oh yeah -- and the natural light we have in the garage now w/the windows . . . HUGE bonus. It's not like a cave out there anymore! Yep, garage doors. These are the things that homeowners get excited about.
Who's with me?
