Who remembers this?
I made a reference to Lik-M-Aid in my last post and Ian didn't get it. Maybe it was only sold over here in the States? Basically, you used a "stick" made of some kind of white edible candy to eat colored, flavored sugar. Here's a pic:
Mmmmmmmm healthy. After you were done eating the sugar, you ate the stick. It was probably invented by dentists!

They still sell them... and my kids still love them. :)
(I think they are typically purple now and possibly made by Willie Wonka?) Admittedly we just eat them and don't always READ them. LOL.
I always called it Fun Dip, but I knew what you meant, when you said Lik-M-Aid. I think the stick is pure sugar.
I love that stuff when I was a kid. I don't think I could eat it now.
Right - we had our own version. A candy stick and 2 compartments. I think one was blackberry flavour and the other was cherry. Ah, memories :)
I loved the sticks, but threw away the powder. Once you've inhaled it and almost choked to death it loses it's appeal. Kind of like the Pixie Sticks.
Good recall, CL. I have choked many times on the powder.
Merritt: I believe you're right -- I had to look at a site listing old skool candy to get that pic.
Peachy: Yep, same thing.
Pixie: There's no WAY I could eat it now!
Ian: Of course you did -- we can't be the only ones eating that kind of crap, can we?
CL: Man, I hated that feeling of getting that powdery sugary crap stuck in my throat!
I used to think the stick was some sort of plastic, sort of like the plastic little red knife (stick) that comes in those little packets of cheese and crackers and only ate the powder. My very first forehead slap came when I realized I had been throwing away the best part.
