I'm back
Flew in from lovely San Diego this afternoon. I got to the airport early and got on an earlier flight. That was nice -- saved me an hour and 20 minutes. I'll have to blog about my conference another time. I'm just getting started on a mountain of laundry and otherwise putting my house back together. The husband says he cleaned up before I got home; I can't imagine what it must have looked like before then!
Sigh.
I got home from the airport, then turned right around with the husband to go pick up the stepdaughter from an overnight stay at a friend's house. Then we hit Target to get the laundry detergent and other things I put on a list before I left town (things I'd hoped he'd pick up), then came home to start going through the mail. I got hungry so we headed out to eat, and my first choice restaurant was teeming with people (f'ing Roseville is insane) so we went to a pizza/pasta joint down the road. I had shrimp ravioli in a cream sauce and it was just okay. The husband was on my nerves trying to talk about our mortage interest rate and getting all Chicken Little on me about what the rates are going to be like in 2014, so I had to shut him down. Can I just get through my dinner and breathe for 10 minutes, please? Then we came home and I finished going through the mail, then started unpacking, started the laundry and now I'm doing this (detour). I gotta get back on track. The rest of this weekend is gonna blow by and Monday presents a whole new set of challenges! I've got 8 summer associates starting in 3 weeks so I have a lot to do to get ready for them, as well as a host of things to prepare for all that will happen this summer, and get ready for the fall associates and on-campus interviews starting in September. September! I already feel like I have no time. I see some long hours and maybe some weekend work in my immediate future.
Double sigh.
The conference was good, and I got a lot of good ideas. I wish I could say I feel refreshed, but it was a whirlwind 5 days and I need some time to process it. One thing at a time, right?
Back to the grind!

Glad to hear the confrence was good! Hope things calm down a bit for ya!
Welcome back!!
What's happening in 2014? Should I prepare myself? hee hee.
Pixie: I was kind of hoping that, too. No such luck!
Peachy: Thanks. 2014 is when our fixed rate on our loan is up. We did that a couple of years ago to save ourselves about $300 a month, knowing we would more than likely be moving within 10 years. Now the husband thinks we will never be able to move and will be screwed when the rates go up. I love our house and all, butI have no intention on this being our retirement home!
