What a difference a week makes

I'm still floating over this promotion. Usually to move ahead I've had to change employers. This time the only thing that is changing is the job itself -- which I think should make it easier. I can concentrate on that and not be sidetracked by all the other things that usually go along with starting a new job. This development may actually push me back to school! For now, I'm going to focus on getting things buttoned up in my current position and start getting my head into what I will be doing. I've been elevated to a position on the firm's management team -- it's an HR position that is sort of like its own little business! I'm going to learn so much. And I get to keep my newsletter -- which I need to get cracking on! Talk about distraction. I've only done some very basic work on it in the last week. I've been pretty much consumed with this promotional opportunity since I got back from vacation. They announced this position while I was on vacation, and started the process of interviewing people before I got back -- then I came back and ruined it for everyone. Can't say I'm sorry! I've been wishing for something like this for so long. I told one of my co-workers I feel like a dog that's been barking at and chasing cars and finally caught one. Now I gotta do something with it!

I can't wait.
