Did My Cat Just . . . Bitch Slap You?!
So weird. My friend Skindy was over on Saturday for beer & BBQ. She insists my cat is a demon-cat, though she's never hissed at anyone, has no front claws and will let anyone pick her up. HER cat, on the other hand, an indoor/outdoor cat with all his claws and a bad attitude, is something of a question mark. I think she's projecting.
Anyway, Smokey (my cat) has a spot she always goes to when she wants a treat, or when she thinks there is the slightest possibility of something to eat coming her way (Smokey is a fat ass). It's a barstool at the counter in our kitchen. There are two of them, but one of them is clearly "hers." If you are sitting in it when she wants to get up there, she will sit on the other bar stool and stare you down, perhaps put a paw or two on your lap to see if she can make a seat there. So my friend Skindy takes a seat on Smokey's chair and Smokey gets on the other one. While we are chatting, I shit you not -- Smokey looks at Skindy, gets up on her hind legs and puts one paw on Skindy's arm and, with her other paw, SLAPS Skindy on the side of her head and lets out a defiant "meow." WTF?!
We were stunned! Of course, this did nothing to temper Skindy's opinion that my cat is a "demon-cat;" personally, I think Smokey is fully aware of how Skindy feels about her and was therefore protesting the fact that Skindy was sitting in her seat.
Isn't that weird?
