5-minute Interview
Erratic Prophet, a fellow blogger, offered in one of her posts to interview 5 people and my curiosity was piqued. I offered myself up and after taking a look at my blog, she came up with 5 questions for me. I've posted her questions and my answers below:
1. Where did your handle, platinumgirl, come from? It's simple, really. I had the same user name for all my on-line stuff for years and I wanted to change it, but hate trying to think up user names (and passwords!). So, after racking my brain and feeling utterly uncreative, I made a name out of my favorite precious metal. It's what my engagement ring and wedding band are made of, strong and beautiful, and had a nice ring (no pun intended) to it.
2. What one law would you change if you could? Hmm . . . I think I would abolish the law requiring individuals to pay income tax. Tax us on what we spend, not what we earn! I think it's so unfair that our money is taxed before we get it, then as we spend it (sales tax, property tax), then when whatever isn't spent incurs tax on the minimal interest it earns, and THEN when we die (estate tax)! Too much tax. Or, if they want to have the income tax to have more control over revenue, eliminate the spending taxes. It's just too much!
3. What is the best thing about being married? I think the best thing about being married is that it seems to make us take our relationship more seriously. There wasn't a monumental shift in our relationship, but it did soon seem more settled even though we'd been together almost 4 years at the time we were married. We talk more about the future now, knowing we've promised to be in each other's futures.
4. What is your quirkiest trait? I hiss at people when they annoy me (not strangers). It catches some people off guard; as for my friends and co-workers, well, they all do it now, too, and so do many of their own family members! It makes the point without throwing out words you can't take back. I also have a tendency to latch on to random words, use them to death and get everyone else to use them, too. So apparently my quirky trait is somehow influencing people to say and do things I do to express themselves, without trying.
5. What is your favorite guilty pleasure movie? Wow, I don't know . . . I don't think of the crazy movies I love as being guilty pleasures, but Real Genius and Ferris Bueller's Day off are favorites. Oh! Better Off Dead is another one. Maybe a guilty pleasure one would be Purple Rain. I love my Prince!

Love your answers, platinumgirl! You named some of my favorite movies there.
If you'd like, you can post your answers on your blog and invite the first five commenters to be interviewed. It's up to you.
I've been known to hiss at people, too.

So, I don't think I get enough traffic to get 5 people to volunteer to be interviewed, but if you are reading this and you want to be interviewed (assuming you have a blog I can go look at to get some ideas for questions), let me know. Otherwise, I will assume this was just an interesting exercise! :o)
